We've been approached by the Phone Coop with a little scheme that may provide an ongoing income stream for initiatives.

    How it works

    1. The initiative signs an agreement with the Phone Coop
    2. The initiative puts an affiliation link/logo on their website - here's an |-- example --|
    3. The Phone Coop puts a special affiliation landing page on their website - here's an |-- example --|
    4. People who a) click on the link, b) go to the landing page and c) sign up with the Phone Coop, get £10 off their first bill
    5. The initiative gets 6% of the value of the person's monthly bill for as long as that person stays with the Phone Coop

    It's that simple.

So, whaddya think? Good idea? Would Transition Initiatives want to take advantage of it?

Lemme know your thoughts and mebbe we'll work with the Phone Coop and make it happen.

  4. TT Sevenoaks also interested. Any funding other than from our pockets is welcome....and even the odd few quid helpful. Assuming there would be no strings on use of the money, it could be a valuable source of 'match funding' where other sources impose that condition, thus in effect doubling the value of income from the Phone Coop arrangement. And having website links tends to push your site a little up the search engine rankings.

OK folks, thanks for the feedback. We're moving ahead to the next step with the Phone Coop. Will keep you posted, both here and via the newsletter.

  6. I think this is a brilliant idea. I'm looking to ditch Orange, so will hang out until this scheme is running.

  7. As a Phone Coop user, I'd encourage it. One of the few utility / service companies I really enjoy dealing with, I'd recommend them. Love 'em. Will pass on the idea to Brighton & Hove, although unlikely we'll be in a position to do anything with it for a while.
