This is a call from Isabel Carlisle on behalf of Transition Network’s new diversity strategy to engage across all sectors of our communities to include in particular people in low income, BME and faith groups.

Transition Network believes that diversity and social justice are key to resilience and that one of the next steps for transition is to connect with and learn from diverse groups within UK society.

Transition Network has obtained funding for a one-year programme to take this work forward. I am starting on the groundwork for the programme, which includes mapping examples of existing good practice, identifying need for training in community engagement, and networking a core body of people and organizations who are engaged in bringing the diversity and sustainability agendas together. This is in preparation for the new appointment, so that when they come in they have people and cases to work with.

Please post here if you have experience in this area, good or bad. We would love to hear from you! Lets get a juicy discussion going.

If you would like to propose your own Transition Initiative (UK) as a pilot, especially as new diversity training is developed, please let me know on: diversity@transitionnetwork.org

    Thanks and best wishes, Isabel
