    hi all

i have read the info on 'transition culture" re the film "in transition" being available for indie screenings from 9th sept 09.

Does Transition Network plan any online web broadcast before or after the film? ie do we need to book rooms that have internet access?

If there is no need for internet access then can we show the film on any date after the 9th if we can not find a room for the 9th?

Helen - you posed a couple of questions.

    a) no online broadcasts planned

    b) indie screenings enable you to get hold of the movie (in DVD form) via the indie screenings website. That gives a sliding scale for buying the movie and a license for a public showing. We're setting that up at the moment while the film gets finished. Not sure of the date, but we're aiming for July sometime.

    c) from 1-Nov, it'll be available for download on a "pay what you think it's worth" basis

    d) from 1-Dec, it'll be available in limited edition DVD form, with lots of extras and a post-carbon toothcare set, including a toothbrush made from sustainably farmed willow with cat's whiskers, a flossing bobbin made using horse hair and sparkplugs, and finally, toothpaste made from recycled chewing gum.

    hi ben

    there is confusion here!

On Rob's blog it says"Our hope would be that as many Transition initiatives as possible will get copies via. Indie Screenings and organise a screening on Wednesday 9th September… be great to have a simultaneous premiere across the world (more details to follow).'

and i was wondering if we needed internet access on that date just in case you were thinking of internet link ups after the film, like the age of stupid premiere....

Aha, I think I see what you mean now. I'll get Rob's attention onto this thread and ask for his comments.

  5. Dear All...
What will happen is that from September 1st, you will be able to order the film and we will send out the film on a DVD. We would love to get as many people as possible showing the film in their Transition groups on 9th September 2009. We will send a DVD which will be on the understanding that people don't copy and distribute the film, rather just use it for the actual screening. Does that answer the question?
    Thanks

  6. Greetings from Scotland,
    Fáilte,

We had a little glimpse of the movie on Saturday (just the first 10 minutes) during our gathering for Transition Town Central Fife. At the moment, the only "official" group there is Transition Town Falkland.

I believe that it is going to be a really compelling and inspiring movie.

My understanding is that, in addition to the DVD, some short videoclip or trailer is going to be uploaded in YouTube and other videostreaming websites. Am I right?

    Regards

    Mari Cruz García.
