Welcome to Transition Town Whitstable - the first in Kent!
We achieved Transition Status in December 2007.

Our Mission Statement:
Transition Town Whitstable aims to reduce its carbon footprint and dependency on fossil fuels. We will achieve our aim by:-
- Mobilising community action
- Raising awareness, providing information and empowering action
- Networking with groups and people already engaged in these issues
- Identifying and setting up positive action projects to reduce our carbon footprint and dependency on fossil fuels
- Creating a plan for the future - an 'Energy Descent Action Plan'
We are an active and ever-increasing group with a lively programme of events.
We are developing working groups with special interests.
We regularly host social evenings at the Duke of Cumberland in Whitstable on the 2nd Monday of each month for exchanging ideas and networking. Come and meet us soon!
