Welcome to Transition Hub Australia
Things are transitioning well in Australia - local groups and regional hubs are forming and making great progress toward local resilience. Lots of projects, activities, events, programs and work are underway. For the latest on who is transitioning in Australia, just check the "Official initiatives" link to your left.
If you'd like to explore the Transition Town concept in Australia even further, visit the Transition Towns Australia blog spot at www.transitiontowns.blogspot.com where you'll find links to all the Australian initiatives too and an overview of some of the things happening nationally, particularly in relation to the local levels of government.
The Transition Sunshine Coast site www.seac.net.au endevours to keep up to date with what's on around Australia, but there is a lot happening, so no doubt some things won't be listed there - but most groups either have a website or a blogspot to promote their local work.
The SEAC site is also home of Transition Sunshine Coast - Australia's first Transition Initiative. We have an EDAP (Energy Descent Action Plan) to be delivered to council and the community, we run courses on energy descent action planning and we've even run a community education/information centre. We are well underway with lots of ideas, workshops and communications happening locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
And along with a few others in Australia, we run Transition Town workshops - 'how to' guides to getting started in your local community.
Transition Sunshine Coast also acts as a hub for networking, sharing of resources, broadscale initiatives and much more.
If there is anything we can do to help you with your transitioning, please email info@seac.net.au
