Regional Transition Hubs

Resulting from a bottom-up process, there are regional hubs emerging in various locales around the world. This will be a crucial part of the process to:

  • enable the practice of self-determination to establish itself at the most appropriate level
  • ensure local initiatives are appropriately supported
  • give a collective voice to local initiatives at the regional government levels

We're at a very early stage in the process and we're working out how the central, national, regional and city hubs and transition initiatives will operate alongside eachother.

The list below represents the very early manifestations of this development. So don't expect to see much on the pages linked below right now (early 2008).

And just in case there are a few people out there thinking, "Oooh, I like the sound of Transition Canada. And while I'm at it, why don't I just do the whole of North America!", the hubs noted above have emerged as a result of thousands of hours of transition work, a deep understanding of all aspects of transition, a significant level of trust built up over months with the central hub and explicit support within initiatives on the ground within these regions.
