This was about introducing Peak Oil and the Transition Town model into an existing Climate focus group.
- Make links with other community groups
- Dig deeper with the current group
- Reach out to key people
- Need to get people to think bigger
- Use the media and local politicians
- Film screenings and talks
- Build the contact list and communicate through it
- Contrast the two approaches:
- carbon neutral = negative focus (may possibly be construed that way, perhaps)
- transition towns = positive focus
- Use the different motivations
- climate change hits the MORAL button
- peak oil hits the SELF-INTEREST button
- Need more discussion on the links between CC and PO
- Invite speaker from TT or Transition Network
