Transition Stroud

To stay up to date please join the Transition Stroud Announcements email list. This provides occasional email updates on what's happening, events and social gatherings.

To join the ANNOUNCE list send a blank email to: tts-announce-subscribe@googlegroups.com

We also run a discussion list which is an open discussion on all things to do with Transition Stroud - this can have quite a lot of email each week, although you can control this from your google groups settings.

To join the DISCUSSION list send a blank email to: tts-discuss-subscribe@googlegroups.com

You may also view these lists online at: http://groups.google.com/group/tts-announce and http://groups.google.com/group/tts-discuss

To view our introductory leaflets click on one of the leaflet images. These were produced for the Richard Heinberg talk on 30 May 07. (Please note: These are 3 fold format so the front is the third column, back is the second column... or print and fold to figure it out).

To find out why we are doing this, go to the Rationale page.

Making the Most of the process

Want to know what YOU can do? Skip to the Bright Ideas page

Or you can contribute to this website and help us create the process online. It is a wiki website, which means we can all create it together. To make your additions just click edit on the Actions list to the left and enter the password ttwiki. . . and off you go! Here's how to use a Wiki.

And to find out where we've been . . . we're creating our own living history on the Transition Stroud blog: http://transitiontownstroud.blogspot.com/

Taking the ideas forward

Stroud is an exciting and dynamic place to be taking on this initiative. We hope to spread the ideas for low-carbon living that have been developed already in Stroud outwards to those who have not yet felt able to change their lifestyles. We also plan to develop some forward-looking best-practice examples of a more localised economy.

Some of us have started a blog to document some of our activities: http://transitiontownstroud.blogspot.com/

We have an open meeting to take forward our activities on the first Thursday of each month, at the Centre for Science and Arts, Lansdown in Stroud. We have just chosen five people from amongst the group to take on specific responsibility for tasks needed to support the process, but these meetings are open to everybody to make decisions about where we're going and what we're going to do.

Most of the positive action for the Transition takes place in individual working groups. Please do contact the co-ordinator of the group you find interesting and GET INVOLVED!
