Floods

The floods in Stroud on 20th July are the sort of event we are going to be seeing more of as the consequences of climate change become more frequent and severe.

If your life is in danger you can use the emergency services, but if you have other needs you may not know where to turn. Please use this page to post your reflections and stories, or to ask for what you need. If people have ideas for what they can offer, please also post them here.

Thinking further ahead, can we think of ways of being better prepared for these sorts of events as a community? Do we need some people on standby to support those in need? What is the role of the town and district councils and are they fulfilling those? Can we organise a way of sharing the risks of climate-related disasters, which are bound to strike randomly?
