Notes from the last meeting

We had an excellent meeting this evening, though rather smaller than expected, probably because of seasonal illness.

We agreed we wouldn't have formal minutes of meetings but notes of the key decisions.

We agreed that whoever takes the notes chairs the next meeting.

We listed various issues related to water (see list below), and after general discussion chose two to look at next time. They were: how to reduce use of bottled water and how to reduce wastage.

John will look for relevant publications/information and e-mail them round.

We hope to see more at the next meeting.

Here are some of the things we talked about:

  • Too much water
  • Too little water
  • Tomatoes from Saudi Arabia
  • Water for nature
  • Ban bottled water
  • Bath with a friend
  • Recreation
  • Pollution
  • Flooding
  • Paving over front gardens
  • Drought
  • Embedded or virtual water
  • Waste
  • Rain water storage
  • Bottled water
  • Hose pipes
  • Water meters
  • Energy from water
  • Leaks
  • Groundwater
  • Wells and springs
  • Washing machines

The story so far... Take a look at this little history of the water group.
