Official Unleashing of Transition Town Lewes!
Tuesday 24th April 2007
8pm, Lewes Town Hall

The launch of Transition Town Lewes, The Official Unleashing, attended by over 400 people, was eye-opening and inspiring. The launch began a year-long programme of events during which the people of Lewes will envision and plan a 20–30 year transition away from fossil fuels - towards a better life.
There were three main speakers:

Rob Hopkins, founder of the Transition Towns initiative, responsible for putting into action the first ever Energy Descent Action Pathway in Kinsale in Ireland, co-ordinator of Transition Town Totnes and the Transition Network spoke about the coming peaking of oil.

Adrienne Campbell, one of the core team of Transition Town Lewes, spoke about how Transition Town Lewes started in a corridor, previous and planned events and encouraged people to get involved in the planning groups.

Dr Chris Johnstone, psychologist and author of Find Your Power, spoke on the psychology of change and how we can wean ourselves off our dependence on oil.
