Jeremy Leggett - Thurs 29 March Peak Oil and Climate Change - Renaissance or Dislocation? About 130 people came to Jeremy Leggett's talk at Pelham House, which was introduced by John Parry of the Linklater Pavilion initiative. Jeremy Leggett has worked in many camps - the oil industry, Greenpeace and now as CEO of SolarCentury, so his talk was a roller-coaster ride through peak oil and climate change, from an international perspective. One thing stuck in my mind: the amount of coal reserves means we could fry the planet several times over if governments took to liquified coal as an alternative to oil: 'We've got to keep it in the ground.'
