This is a summary of what we were doing, back in January 2008:

We originally formed with the idea of buying land for community use and TTL projects. The land use group had three meetings and considered itself a "service" group for TTL providing a central point of information on land and buildings in and around Lewes. Some of the group had property, finance/funding and agricultural experience.

Lewes already has the Lewes Community Land Trust who have similar ideas about acquiring land for community ownership, albeit for the town centre and not agricultural land, and we were aware we should not duplicate work unnecessarily.

We also considered the idea of doing a land use survey of the area, specifically to look at available and useful agricultural land. This project has not come to fruition.

If anyone would like to take on the challenge of reinvigorating the land use group, they would be most welcome.
