Energy Fair Sat June 12th 2010 Cliffe Precinct, Lewes. People came to talk to suppliers of renewable energy, insulation and energy-saving devices plus to get other information on how to save money and reduce energy in their homes.

About 250 people came to visit houses in and around Lewes to find out what others are doing to make their houses more energy efficient and cheaper to run. The idea was that there were no salesmen, just honest, straightforward information on the cost, the pain, the gain and the payback. On display was draughtproofing, insulation, double glazing,low energy lighting, solar power generators, wood stoves, ground source heat pumps, water saving devices, monitoring systems and composting.

Following a TTL Open Space Event The energy group was formed in July 2007 to come up with a strategy for how we can reduce our dependence on imported fossil fuels, and increase our local resilience, by re - localising our energy supply, and massively reducing our current consumption. A successful pilot project was held in February 2010 to encourage local households to improve their draughtproofing and save considerable amounts of energy.

Open Eco-House Weekend June 20th-21st

Lewes and district (click link above for information). The 2009 Eco Open House weekend showed how others have used them in their own homes. There’s nothing futuristic about most of these houses – they’re ordinary and usually oldish, but people have made them energy-efficient in ways that range from the cheap and effective to the engineered and ambitious.

ENERGY FAIR 2009 - Following last year’s very successful event, the Energy Fair returned on Saturday June 13th with suppliers of renewable energy, insulation and energy-saving devices. The event was well attended and the installers reported an increase in interest.
