Pathway to a Positive Future

Contact: Coming soon...

The Pathway to a Positive Future has replaced the EDAP group:

"The aim is to facilitate each TTL group in producing a simple and engaging vision of why they formed their group. A simplified description of each group’s Pathway to a Positive Future will provide a springboard for stories, ideas, engagement with other groups, engagement with schools and the wider community. This Pathway to a Positive Future might also be the starting for stimulating the Local Government Group and its necessary engagement with Councils and other Governmental groups.

All the hard work that many Groups have already produced cover the majority of layers that each group has talked about. From the Present situation to the Vision of a positive future, with a few outline Steps to get there. Then a look at the Priorities, Obstacles and Next Steps and the Resources that might be needed to achieve the vision. And finally a list of the Projects that each group is doing or dreaming to do. Less is more and more than two pages is probably too long!

The Pathway to a Positive Future will comprise one or more people from each TTL group; and there will be no separate group tasked with producing the Pathway. We are all in this together.

The intention is to create a springboard, or perhaps even a leap, towards a Pathway to a Positive Future where we can bring some fun back into the process that we all felt after the Visioning session in Jan 2008.

With best wishes

Lewes Energy Descent Action Plan – pathway to a postitive future

The plan is...

  • each group has a plan coordinator (someone who coordinates the writing of their group's section of the plan)
  • groups will write the first draft of their sections of the plan by early April 2008 - ready for our next meeting Wednesday 9th April
    • groups might start out with a vision of the future in their sector
    • then brainstorm ideas together of acheivable, creative steps towards that vision
    • the first draft could contain a statement about the current situation as well as the vision, and the steps to be taken to realise that vision
  • the plan coordinators will go back to their groups, plans will be revised, then we meet again in May (Thursday 15th) and July (Friday 4th)
  • in September (Monday 8th) we'll meet again, bring the plans together with the transition tales, then publish them within TTL and a few select others for comments
  • we'll meet again in October (Tuesday 14th) and December (Wednesday 3rd) revising the plans in the light of comments and preparing for the launch of the plan
  • in January 2009 we'll publish the first draft of the plan. Early January copies get sent to the printer. Late January the official launch of Transition Town Lewes's Energy Descent Action Plan: Pathway to a Positive Future!!!
