Discussion of the role of the Energy Descent Plan Group, what TTL groups need from the EDP Group and possible next steps

The Energy Descent Plan Group offered to facilitate TTL groups in creating their first draft of an energy descent plan over a period of a year.

The EDP Group could...

  • facilitate communication between groups in TTL and in the Transition Network
  • open up a discussion on the shape of the document:
    • all groups write their own sections and have creative freedom
    • include a synthesis
    • alongside plan have events and projects
  • disseminate information:
    • information about how to prioritise issues and projects relevant to each group and within TTL as a whole
    • information about and coordination of funding applications and grants
  • be supportive to TTL groups
  • compile a directory of contacts
  • compile resilience indicators

Next steps...

  • have regular meetings
  • groups to host evenings on their progress in creating an energy descent plan to share their experience and vision and inform, educate and encourage other TTL groups
  • each group to have an open seat on the EDP Group for a representative on their group responsible for coordinating the group’s energy descent plan
