This website
This website is a wiki. If you know what that is a very simple guide to editing is here.
A wiki is a slightly unusual concept for people used to traditional newspapers, magazines and websites. Unlike a traditional website where the pages are created and edited by one person, or a team working under the direction of one person, on a wiki anybody can change a page. So, for example, if there's something on this page or in this sentence you think can be improved, please make the change.
You can add pages of your own too.
It's important of course to try to make things better rather than worse. And to be sensitive that the original writer may feel a sense of ownership of their work. But the whole idea of a wiki is that collaboration and interplay between authors creates something better than just one author working alone.
It's really not any harder than using a Word Processor. If you'd like to give it a try why not:
- have a go in the sandbox - a place for experimenting and playing.
- ask for help from someone who knows how to do it - why not start by contacting the Communications Group
The password is ttwiki and you can learn more about wiki editing here. You can find out more about wikis in general by reading this article in one the most famous of all wikis: Wikipedia.
These pages are what we all make of them. It's better to have more writers and editors than less. So please have a go. You can't break anything. In fact, anyone with a little knowledge and some sensitivity can contribute.
