Setting the Compass for 2008

Saturday 19th January 2008, 10.30am-4.30pm, Subud House
a event for people active in TTL
This event provided us with the space to reflect on the enormity of our achievements over the past year and to build on our strengths, to move forward together. The day included reflection and celebration of the past year, looking at possible futures for Lewes and inspiring each other to make the next year of TTL the best it can be. It was hosted by the EDAP group and was led by group facilitator, Hermione Elliott (a member of the Heart and Soul group).
About twenty people came and, after short introductions, we started by pairing up and focusing on what hasn’t gone well in our experience with TTL. We then tried to find solutions with our partners. Then the focus turned to a highlight or key moment for us with TTL. All this was fed back to the group and recorded (see the links below).
Next came the visioning. Hermione took us through first our negative, then our positive visions of Lewes in 2025. After going into a time-free zone, we went into a time where we were not feeling good, when things happened we didn’t plan for, the worst case senario. We explored this time and then looked back to 2008 and sent ourselves a message. We then stepped back into the time-free zone, shook off that vision, and stepped into a 2008 where we had made an elegant planned transition. We noticed the differences between this and the previous vision, we sent a message to ourselves in 2008 and returned again to that time. See below for a write up of those visions.

With our positive vision, we adorned an enlarged map of Lewes with post-it notes of words and drawings of future Lewes: trees and wind turbines dominated, with bicycle shops, recycling hubs and wellbeing centres in the middle of town.
After a delicious soup for lunch, we spent the afternoon discussing ways forward for TTL groups in creating their energy descent action plans/positive planning for the future and, in small groups, taking a project we are interested in and devising next steps.
