In the run up to the unleashing of Transition Town Lewes on 27 April, we will be creating some events to give a taste of things to come.
Seedy Saturday - 3 Feb was an amazing community event raising awareness of the power of seed and the power of communty. John Webber and Nir Halfon made first mention of Transition Town Lewes.
Energy Transition Comes to Lewes
To help us understand the problems resulting from our overdependence on oil and gas, we're putting on a programme in the lead up to the Official Unleashing, starting with two films in Feb in association with Lewes Cinema and two speakers in March in association with the Pelham Institute.
The End of Suburbia - Sun 11 Feb 2pm - All Saints £3 - our civilisation's addiction to oil and what could happen when it peaks - any year now.
The Power of Community - Sun 25 Feb 2pm - All Saints £3 - Cuba's creative response to surviving the Soviet oil and goods embargo.
Both films followed by a discussion facilitated by local author Susannah Waters for those who wish to stay.
