EDAP group meeting Monday Jan 28th
Adrienne, Pippa, Kristina and Polly
Setting the Compass
- We talked in pairs about how we feel after SETTING THE COMPASS? What are our next steps? Feedback for EDAP group and Hermione.
Feedback for Hermione
- Follow up to “what is challenging in TTL”. Could we have asked people to be responsible for their suggestions? Shame to loose good ideas. Adrienne said that the Communication group is following up some of these.
- Confusion at end of day. Planning projects – we have lots of ideas already, we need to make a cohesive plan. Disappointment that this was not achieved. Polly - these ideas can go in plan as intentions; don’t have to do them now.
- Appreciation for holding and guidance in first part of the day.
- Several people were troubled by the negative vision, or the positive one. Could we have had some movement or other process to get out of the negative visions? - we took it away with us a bit.
For the group
- Did anyone take notes of the discussion we had before the tea break in the afternoon. This contained a lot of useful stuff re EDAP – Chloe took notes and will write up!
Next steps
- Pippa has discovered the Transition Primer which now contains Steps to create EDAP!! Inc. Local resource auditing template / transition timeline / resilience indicators http://www.transitionnetwork.org/Primer/TransitionInitiativesPrimer.pdf
- Pippa has emailed Ben Brangwen to find out when we might see the local resources auditing template. This could provide a vital missing link for the EDAP process.
- Pippa to draw up a draft timeline using the process in the primer with dates for Lewes.
- We decided to take some action and give groups a facilitated process and structure in the hope of actually getting someone to write something!...
- Establish one or more EDAP contacts for each group. Pippa to draft job description. This person to be responsible for the co-ordination of the EDAP in their group.
- Six weekly meetings of all these people. Will facilitate these meetings and can get work done on the EDAP at them.
- Initial meeting on Tuesday 19th Feb, 7.30-9pm at the Ellie. We will hear from the energy group about how they wrote their EDAP and what it consists of. We will use the four questions to identify challenges and next steps (What is going well for me with the EDAP, what is challenging, what is my vision or goals, what are my next achievable steps?). We will agree the draft timeline and share all the national info that is / will be useful. We will ask each person to come back in six weeks with a first draft.
- Hopefully we will get enough reps to get the process going. We can then follow up the groups who don’t make it and bring them into the process.
- Pippa to send out a draft invite for comments and then to send to TTL active and contacts.
- In the same e mail we will relaunch the ideas bank as a resource for the EDAP. Pippa, Polly and Adrienne will all put some ideas in the bank to kick start this.
- Adrienne has asked Chloe if she can update the EDAP pages with any info about what other groups are doing re their EDAPs
- Adrienne will begin to look into how we can communicate the EDAP – printing/film/exhibition etc
- We will begin to link up ideas for RESILIANCE INDICATORS with ideas we put on the Wiki ideas bank.
- Colin has sent this link to a Defra report which contains useful info for planning the EDAP
- We (EDAP group) will meet for half an hour following the meeting on 19th Feb to discuss our next steps and decided whether we need to meet as a separate group or not for the time being.
Our Name/working title
We decided right at the end of the meeting to stick with EDAP since this is what it is called nationally, with the tag line “Pathway to a positive future”.
