What is Transition Leicester?
Transition Leicester is a new grassroots project in the city.
We have two main goals – greatly reducing Leicester’s carbon emissions, so the city contributes its share of the global effort to help avoid dangerous climate change, and improving the city’s resilience, so that we are able to provide for our core needs – like food, energy, entertainment and transportation – even if prices of fossil fuels (on which our current infrastructure relies) substantially increase.
We also have a third very important goal – to create a vision of Leicester in the future as a vibrant, abundant, wonderful community in which to live, and to inspire the people of Leicester to work towards that vision.
