Heart and Soul
Why Heart and Soul?
We are all being challenged to wake up and confront our destructive patterns of behaviour and find creative and soulful solutions to the world-wide crisis that both peak-oil and environmental changes are bringing.
Unless we can face these feelings within ourselves and find a way to transform them, we will not be as effective as we could be.
A Heart and Soul group has been set up to explore our human responses to change, including our hopelessness, despair, anger and frustration, fear, and even downright terror.
This group will be initially open to new members, and will then form a closed group so that members can explore issues around the questions that Transition raises in a safe and supportive environment.
Group Aims
Some of the aims of the group are as follows:
- Helping each other manage change
- To support the rest of Transition Leicester's work.
- To help us reconnect with what has value and meaning for us as human beings.
- To help us reconnect with the natural world and sustain a balanced way of living.
- Maintaining hope and purpose when things are tough
- Supporting people to not feel alone with their feelings
- Sharing and encouraging heartening possibilities
- Sharing and valuing personal strengths.
- Supporting creative & innovative ideas
- Having speakers/workshops/events that explore these issues.
- Dealing with conflict/competition/fear and power issues.

Upcoming events
We are planning to organise a one-day workshop in early December (provisionally on Sunday December 7th). This is likely to focus on exploring our feelings about the current environmental crisis and the changes to our lives we face in coming years using processes from Joanna Macy's Work That Reconnects.
Next meeting will be on Wednesday 26th November. Contact Marie on creative.heart [AT] ntlworld.com for more details if you would like to attend.
