Past events:

On the 11th and 25th of September we contributed to another two showings of the Peak Oil documentary A Crude Awakening at the Phoenix. The screenings were put on by Leicester City Council, and we organised pair-discussions before and after the film, and answered questions as part of a panel afterwards.

On Monday 8th September we held an event called "Transition is up my street!" at Moat College. The event focussed on what the ideas behind Transition mean for cities and in particular, on what can be done on the level of our local neighbourhoods.

We had a stall at the Watermead family fun day at Watermead park on Saturday 30th August, where we served up pizza, information about Transition and clever uses for old tetrapaks.

The food group organised a wild food walk in and around Aylestone Meadows on Sunday 10th August.

We had a summer picnic in Abbey Park on Sunday 29th June 2008. A good time was had by all, whether we were sharing food in the sunshine or singing in the rain under the shelter of the gazebo...

At the Riverside Festival in June 2008 we gave the first outing to our very own Peak Oil Slide Show and collected ideas from people on how life in Leicester could be better after Peak Oil.
