RBK Energy Strategy Year One implementation plan

Priorities include:

  • Reporting and partnership forum to monitor and evaluate progress
  • Set long-term borough wider CO2 targets
  • Local Authority Carbon Management Programme
  • Feasibility study for alternative energy sources in the borough
  • Resourced approach to retrofitting in the domestic sector
  • Seek approval to access grant funding

The new new Climate Change and Sustainable Travel Team of 10 officers will lead. The Energy Saving Trust will provide a £20k grant to support a community project. A £67k grant over 3 years will be used to gather evidence for renewables and local energy networks. There are many other recommendations and they all make interesting reading.

RBK is committed to monitoring and reporting the Ecofootprint. There are various initiatives that we can tell you about.

Kingston Strategic Partnership

This is a forum maintained by RBK for consultation with various institutions. It includes 4 Delivery Groups. One of these is Sustainable Communities. This has 5 sub-groups. One of these is Environment. We are represented on this.
