We held the first public meeting on 11th October 2007 at the Riverside Centre, Newport and over 65 people attended. It was a resounding success with energetic discussion and volunteers stepping forward to drive the project on.
The decision was almost unanimous to adopt the Transition Towns model for the whole Island. We hope it will be adopted by Island towns and villages as well.
We were welcomed to official status with Transition Towns Network on 8/1/08.
