1. Building From Small – Our Next Public Event
Our next public event would be an evening on “Building From Small”, including a talk from Karina Wells on Eco-Teams, an initiative in use in Nottingham which encourages street or neighbourhood teams to come together to recycle, save energy etc.. http://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/home/environment/greenissues/ecoteams.htm
The venue will be Roman Way Day Centre, talk from 7.30pm on Tuesday 16th September. Admission £2/£1 on door. Volunteers to help please.
2. TT Newcombe Street
Darren has produced leaflets for distribution to houses on his street.
3. Vision Workshop
The Vision Workshop will go ahead on Sunday 21st September 7pm at Sarah Clarke’s house - 6 Dunslade Close, Harborough tel: 410121 Difficulties with people’s availability has meant a shift of the workshop date. We will do the necessary visioning and action planning over a series of evening meetings. This will be a great opportunity to think about the future you would like to see for Harborough and how it might be achieved. Please let us know in advance if you wish to come.
4. Green Network Stall
There will be a Green Network Stall at the launch event for new group "Enable Youth", an independent community group supported by an advisory group with representatives from HIT, Voluntary Action South Leicestershire and Harborough District Council. They are a committee of 16-25 year olds, and the membership is open to 11 to 25 year olds across Harborough District. The event on the 20th October at the Congregational Church Centre (1pm to 4pm) is their launch event, and membership drive. There is lots of potential for linking with the new "V" youth volunteering project, based at Voluntary Action South Leicestershire, for young people led and involved environmental actions and projects.
We need ideas for local green projects that young people could practically get involved with.
5. Billesdon Slow Food Day
Claire and Sustainable Billesdon are having a slow food day with a farmer’s market in BIllesdon on Sunday September 28th from 11am at the Coplow Centre.
6. AOB
- Green Technology Day Darren and Mary spoke of local companies such as NSP Renewables offering renewable technologies, and Darren suggested we hold a green technology fair, a venue such as the Congregational Church Hall would be suitable. - Future Projects Action – ALL - to think of ideas for practical projects for TTMH to get started
7. Next Meeting
Date to be arranged.
