Our next public event would be an evening on “Building From Small” , including a talk from Corina Webb on Eco-Teams, an initiative used successfully in The Netherlands which encourages street or neighbourhood teams to come together to recycle, save energy etc..
EcoTeams are being already being set up in Nottingham by the EMRA with support from The Global Action Plan http://www.globalactionplan.org.uk/
An EcoTeam is a group of 6-8 households who meet once a month for four months to share ideas and work together to learn simple yet effective lifestyle changes to become more environmentally friendly. The aim is that through measuring improvements each household can see its part in creating a cleaner, more sustainable future, as well as reducing household bills.
