The opposition comes mainly because it is a large developmentin a greenfield area of poor transport links to Leicester and M1. It was felt that an alternative proposal could be put to the Co-Op who are the site owner whichwould suggest a demonstration eco village perhaps on co-housing principles and with some traditional co-operative values built in (see David Cameron on food co-ops forexample).
Action: MB to contact Co-op directly.
An earlier meeting has discussed possibility of visiting Upton in Northampton a sustainable urban extension.
Action: MB to contact John Twidell about his interest in Upton
Action: All to visit Upton and similar sustainable communities for background information etc
