Hello all,
Just a quick note on what we did yesterday. This meeting was ostensibly just to get us all together in the daylight for a photo oppertunity and an informal chat but it also provided an oppertunity for three new faces to make themselves known to the rest of the group for the first time.
It was my greatest pleasure to see David Toone and Katy Buers with her partner Chris so there was a lot of getting to know each other done, which was great fun.
We then trundled off into my vegetable patch (Sadly devoid of vegitation due to slug heaven 2007) for a few photo's. I then suggested that we move to some scrub land that is literally 200 yards from my house that I had discovered a few days ago was once an orchard.
Well what can I tell you, 2007 has been one of the highest cropping years on record for orchards and these trees were no exception, Simon and Chris found a long latent childish zeal for scrumping and merrily spent 30 minutes trying to grab as many apples as they could from the higher branches that had not been picked already.
Another few photo's and back to the house for another chin wag before the majority left leaving Simon, Mark, Lydya and myself to sort out the bank account application.
An excellent meeting to my mind made all the more of a landmark meeting by the revelation by Chris that he is actually a presenter on BBC radio Leicester.
All the best
Darren
