Transition Harborough was invited to address a combined meeting of the local Labour and Co-Operative party at Bauchamp College in Oadby.
The meeting was Co-chaired by a familiar face in the form of Dave Johnson father of the rugby son of Harborough and Una from Harborough FOE and U3A.
The group listened intently and there was a heated debate about the commercial viability of Organic farming and the availability of manure from one quarter, of course the answer is that when the conditions ae right then it will be commercially viable as the standard model for farming.
Another key topic of the evening was insulation of our existing housing stock and methods for doing it.
While no one came forward and volunteered their time I think that most took the message to heart and understood its implications. Dave Johnson did casually remark about giving over his garden to the cause which is something that I intend to persue.
Many thanks to Ian Snaith for co-ordinating this event and we look forward to working together in the future.
