Name
The organisation shall be known as “Transition Town Market Harborough” or “Transition Harborough”

Object
To inform the populace and business community about the imperatives of Peak Oil and Climate change, the impact that these will have on the community of Harborough and to guide the community through a process of weaning from an oil based economy where practicable.

Steering Group

  1. The steering group shall consist of Secretary, treasurer ,who will be elected by a majority vote of the group members, and at least two other members
  2. The group chair is to be rotated through the group members
  3. The steering group shall meet at least once a month
  4. The steering group shall at its soonest convenience create sub-group’s/Work groups with remits in the areas of food, waste, energy, education, economics, transport, water, local government.
  5. New sub-groups can be created at any time when three or more people express an interest in participation.
  6. When the number of sub-groups reaches 6 the steering group shall dissolve and be reconstituted by nominated members of the sub-groups wherein officials must be nominated and re-elected by group vote.

Sub-groups

  1. Sub-groups will be created only by the instigation of the steering group
  2. Upon inception each new group must nominate the three executive roles of Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary.
  3. A representative, not necessarily from the executive, must be nominated for a seat on the steering group if the quorum for the dissolution of the initial group has been reached.
  4. Sub-groups are free to create working groups for specific projects at their discretion.
  5. The treasurer must pass any finance updates to the steering group treasurer on a monthly basis.

Dissolution

  1. Dissolution can only occur from a unanimous vote of the steering group
  2. Upon Dissolution any funds in the group account should be donated to a local charity unanimously agreed by the steering group.
