We aim to run the awareness raising and movement towards an Energy Descent Action Plan as an interest group of Sustainable Frome, which was set up in 2006 to discuss how Frome (just south of Bath) can become a more sustainable town in the future.

The discussion forum can be found here: http://www.sustainablefrome.org.uk

We believe that “Sustainable Frome – a Town in Transition” is fully engaged with the key points of the Transition Movement (awareness raising around peak oil and climate change; sharing ideas within the Transition Network; influencing local government; working towards an energy descent plan; reskilling and changing hearts and minds). What this means is that we get involved in three specific activity;

1. Promoting and facilitating an “Energy Descent Plan”

2. Ensuring that Sustainable Frome benefits from full engagement with the Transition Network

3. Lobbying around the Sustainable Communities Act.
