General
If anyone would like to borrow any of the DVDs that we've been showing, let me know (Power of Communities, End of Suburbia, Money as Debt). It can be arranged for a small donation to the Transition Earlsdon funds!
Food Group
We are developing a gardening together network, through which we can all take part in growing our own food locally. We take turns to invite each other to each others gardens and garden together, sharing work, produce, land, ideas, picnics etc. The aim is to make gardening a more social activity, and maybe combine gardening with planning meetings, consciousness raising, etc.
This has only been going a month or so, and the meetings so far have all been on my (Andrew's) allotment. While I very much like the idea of sharing my allotment with a group of like minded people, we plan to visit other gardens too soon.
We use a google group to organise meetings. Drop me a line and715@googlemail.com to join.
We had several successful seed swaps this year and plan to have more in the spring.
Help needed
Are you any good at designing posters? We need some rather more eye-catching things. As you see, my creativity is somewhat limited! Are you good at getting out and about and publicising events, spreading posters around in likely places? Do you attend any group which would like to hear about Transition, what it is all about, and how people can get involved? Could you help to organise the Open Homes event? Have you had any environmentally friendly things done in your home that you would be prepared to show others?
Other Future Events
We hope to organise some more film screenings and general introductory events in the near future. Watch this space – or email us to be kept informed.
