Transition Town Berkhamsted - Food Group
As a group we want to:
Let people know where their food comes from. Let people know where to buy locally. Help people who want to grow their way to 5 a day find the land, the skills and the support to do so. Research the possibility of developing an area Food Strategy together with other Dacorum food groups Work with our Exchange Group to provide local produce for our Sunday Exchange events.
Come the autumn we will have our next meeting and post details of dates and times below, we will start to develop our own food group strategy and look at how we can involve and inform the wider community in our work - and have fun!!
In September you can: harvest runner beans ( you can always freeze some picked on a sunny day and have them on a cold winter's evening and remember some of the sunshine!); cauliflowers: crab apples: plums - the salad crops and chard are still going strong - and - the marrow season is here!
